Behrens & Associates’ 15,000 SF renovation of a tilt-up concrete building in El Segundo transformed a decaying structure into a dynamic, light-filled office atmosphere for a sound mitigation firm. The project included replacing an outdated brick addition with a modern façade, incorporating a new courtyard, and opening the interior to outdoor patios to deepen the connection between indoors and nature. The design blends functionality with the client’s passion for art, design, and automobiles, featuring bold rooflines inspired by the Silverstone Circuit Building and a new mezzanine conference room. Custom materials like wood roof structures, skylights, and glazed windows bring in natural light while adding an inviting, collaborative atmosphere. Thoughtful landscaping and biophilic elements further support employee well-being and productivity.
