The renovation for Los Angeles based Biscuit Filmworks involved transforming two warehouse structures into a harmonious work environment that blurs the line between comfort and productivity. Being older structures, they required intricate seismic upgrades. The project scope also included the complete demolition of an adjacent building to make room for a much needed parking lot.
The project resulted in a warm and inviting look featuring reclaimed wood and encaustic cement tiles that complemented industrial elements and the historic barrel truss roof system. Other construction highlights included a mezzanine, a library, and a fireproof vault for artwork storage.
All these unique aspects contributed to successfully reflecting the company’s vision of a creative “factory for making”
